Il nous arrive à tous de nous demander ce qui a fait de nous ce que nous sommes… Et souvent dans ces moments là, nous pensons à ce qui nous a marqué quand nous étions enfants, nos années sûrement les plus fécondes. Je viens de deux pays où les éléments naturels sont des personnages de romans, où l’humain doit s’adapter à un environnement à la fois merveilleux et terrifiant qui emporte l’imagination, où le luxe et l’élégance sont dans les paysages intouchés, l’air exceptionnellement pur que l’on respire, l’incroyable variété de plantes et d’animaux que l’on croise, l’extravagance du moindre élément naturel aussi minuscule soit-il.
Maintenant que je suis adulte, je réalise que ce qui me paraissait normal en ce temps là, m’a ouvert une porte. Je m’en rends surtout compte quand arrivent les vacances. Il y a alors un moment que j’attends plus que tout autre, c’est quand je vais me retrouver au milieu de cette nature absolue et que rien ne va plus compter que la vie, les possibilités infinies qu’elle offre, tous les mondes qu’elle conjugue, que nous pouvons observer quand nous marchons, nageons, regardons autour de nous, et nous font retrouver cet enfant que nous étions, qui savait beaucoup moins et rêvait beaucoup plus.

Greece – A lesson from Nature

Everyone asks themselves, at some point, what has made us as we are. And often,at such moments, we think of what marked our lives as children, surely our most fertile years. I come from two countries where the natural elements are like characters in novels, where mankind must adapt to an environment both magnificent and frightening that blows the imagination, where luxury and elegance are to be found in the pristine landscapes, the exceptional purity of the air you breathe, the incredible variety of plants and animals you come across, the extravagance of the smallest natural detail.
Now, an adult, I understand that all that happened then, all that seemed normal, was the opening of a door. This I realize more than ever when the holidays approach. Then there is a moment I anticipate above all, that moment when I find myself in the world of unadulterated nature, and feel that nothing can be more important than life, the infinite possibilities it offers, all aspects of the world combined, all that we perceive when we walk, swim, look around us, and we become again that child who knew so much less and dreamed so much more.
